Eagle Raceway Website: To Eagle Raceway Fans, Racers and Staff, It is with
great regret that we announce this is the last season that Eagle
Entertainment LLC will operate Eagle Raceway. Since the purchase of Eagle
Raceway we have attempted to make it a premier racing facility. We invested
a large amount of money to improve the facility for the racers and fans.
The bottom line is we failed from a financial standpoint to make any sense
of the investment. The local fan support was not enough. I don't want to
argue with any of the arm chair "CPA's" but we had to inject cash each year
to keep the track operating and were not taking a dime out of it. After
awhile you need to ask yourself, why?!?!
In racing, some do it for money and some do it for fun. We wish Eagle
Raceway could have been at least a break-even proposal but it wasn't. We
would still continue for the "fun" but the last couple of years that has
gone also.
To all of the Kim Ideus's, Rodney Droud's, Joe Snyder's, Ryan Tunks's, Rob
Spitz's and Ivan Tracy's or the others that posted anonymously on how "bad"
we were , you now have what you wanted. You really wonder if you would have
tried to take all of your negative energy and maybe tried to help Eagle
Raceway maybe we could have made a go of it? For all of you that said we
just cared about money and nothing about the racers and fans, you are NOW
right, we are caring about the bottom line. Before now, you couldn't have
been more wrong.
We could make changes that would get us close to breaking even, eliminate
fireworks, eliminate face painting, cut purses, add classes of cars and
raise prices. All of these things would only make the "blue birds" more of
experts on how I'm trying to screw the racers and fans. We have never tried
to do that and don't feel like being a bull's-eye for those people to take
pot shots at us, life is too short. We feel its best to allow someone else
the chance to operate Eagle Raceway.
In closing I want to thank all of you that did try to support us, this is a
very painful decision for us. I think many racers did know we tried to
improve the facility. I think many fans felt the same way. To our staff it
is extremely painful for us not to be able to continue. We have so many good
people that did a great job for us to make Eagle Raceway a top-notch
facility.
At this time Eagle Raceway is for sale or lease for the 2006 season. Serious
inquires can be directed to Craig Cormack at eaglercwy@... or 6101 S
58th Suite B, Lincoln, NE 68516.
All year end points fund will be sent by the end of December 2005
